Welcome to our research lab in the University of North Carolina Department of Epidemiology.
Housed within the genetic and cardiovascular research groups, we focus on the genetic underpinnings of heart, lung and blood disorders in humans. Research interests of predoctoral students, postdoctoral researchers and faculty within this group span a wide range of disease outcomes including cardiovascular, obesity, and diabetes traits. Our research goals include ways to better understand causes of common chronic diseases and to enable disease prevention. Other areas of interest include a focus on diverse study populations.Â
